Why Poem by Jocelyn Dunbar

Why

Rating: 5.0

Why are we hurting each other,
Why do we become jealous of others and
To the people around us?
Why not do a thing for ourselves and be productive?
Why do we control others/someone to do things
We want to do for us to please ourselves
And burden them. Why are we doing that?

Why do we neglect someone/loved one
If they are not fit in our ways,
We want them to be the subject of our intention,
Desires, and many more, Why are we so selfish?
Why are we like this, which is not supposed to be?

Why are we ruining ourselves for the freedom
Do we have of the things in this world?
We become a slave to our wrongdoing and blame it
On others, Why are we doing that?

Why do we want so many things in this world
That we end up lost and empty?
Why not do things to make us happy in a simple way
And the thing that makes us feel free from the noise
And demand of this world.

Why not do things that others can benefit
Wherever we go, wherever we are,
To make life easier for ourselves and others,
Why are we not doing that?

We want complication to ourselves that becomes
Unbalanced in our existence, why are we, foolish people?
Why not choose to love and give love, and free people
To experience life and guide them to a straight path.
Why do we control them?

Why not hold hands together instead of letting it go
Why do we make ourselves sad and empty instead of
Fill it with life and inspiration, smiles, and laughter.
Why do we reason ourselves into doing wrong,
Why not have a go at doing good
To ourselves and others
And live.

Ohh! Why, Ohh! Why and, Why.
