Why Did The People Divide With Difference Of Opinion?
The people who prayed and blessed
…the oncoming persons with delightful word
by seeing the religious symbols on their forehead,
…why did they divide with difference of opinion ahead,
separate and go alone as they like to dread?
Apart from the fact that the swans separate the water
..from the adulterated milk with their ability to tender
and drink the delicious milk leaving the water,
…why the same people thrift themselves in mind
and think of the less important things like water?
This poem 'Why did the people divide with difference of opinion? ' is a translation by me of a Tamil poem by my friend Poet Kaliappan Esekkial of Chennai.
இன்றைய சிந்தனை - கலி விருத்தம்
சின்னங்கள் பார்த்துச் சிவசிவ என்றகன்றார்;
பின்னங்க ளாகிப் பிரிந்தொதுங்கிப் போனதும், ஏன்?
அன்னங்கள் கூடி, நீர் அகற்றிப்பால் உண்டது, போய்த்
தன்னுள்ளே திரிந்து தண்ணீரை நினைப்பதும், ஏன்? - எசேக்கியேல்
