Why Did You? Poem by Adams King

Why Did You?

Why did you kiss the lips
you do not love
and bare false feelings
to earn false joy
As day and night slips
greater becomes the cost

Why waste precious time
to entertain your lust
disguised in sweet smiles
your soured intentions
by rendering false lines
and having others lost

Why tell her you love her
when you know you don't
luring soft and tender angels
into an emotional hell
lifting high, innocent hearts
and drop them to fall

You pen down loving poetry
with a pen void of love
mocking the same pretty petals
whose nectars you suck
so stylish in the act of coquetry
you've been her bitter curse

Why did you steal her smile
and made dark her sky once blue
turned her heart against love
not knowing love, yet assumed to
why did you make her cry
O heartless one, why did you?
