Why Do So Many Of Our Younger Women Have Such Large Asses

it's a strange world,
this age of mirrors and machines,
where screens teach curves
and hips learn to sing louder.

disposability, vanity—
two old dogs in heat,
chasing their own tails
under the streetlights of want.

what do we do with it?
do we pin it to the wall,
call it art,
or let it crawl under our skin
and stay there?

I light another cigarette,
pour another drink,
try to remember when
nothing seemed to matter
but the buzz in my veins.
