Why do they call it heartbreak?

When it makes my stomach hurt

And it stops my brain from focussing,

But my heart continues to work.

Why do they call it heartbreak?

When the muscles in my hands stay tensed up

And my legs have lost all their energy,

But still my heart just does not stop.

♡

Why do they call it heartbreak?

When my ears stop listening to my surroundings

And my nose keeps hallucinating your scent,

Whilst my heart just keeps on pounding.

♡

Why do they call it heartbreak?

When my mouth no longer wants to eat

And my eyes keep on leaking water,

Whilst my heart continues to beat.
