'' Why Do We Accept This Oppression '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Why Do We Accept This Oppression ''

The worlds in a spin,
There is evil within,
It emanates from the East to the West,
What is this seed?
It's known as, greed,
It's the reason the world is distressed.

Those at the top,
Catch us on the hop,
To them it's big business rules,
Even when they flop,
It's our income they'll drop,
The truth is, they see us as fools.

Bankers and politicians,
Make it their missions,
To be funded by those on the take,
One of their conditions,
Should raise our suspicions,
We who keep them, they strive to forsake.

Profits in billions,
No make that trillions,
While we choose, do we heat or eat,
In their gold lined pavilions,
They see us, their civilians,
As scum, that they love to beat.

Though it isn't fair,
We don't seem to care,
We sit back and tolerate their flak,
While suffering despair,
We need to beware,
Our very existence is under attack.

They act with impunity,
Which causes disunity,
We have got to ask ourselves why?
If we as a community,
Take this opportunity,
We can then expose their big lie.

While our thumbs we twiddle,
To me it's a riddle,
For the answers, we don't even ask,
From us they diddle,
They're all on the fiddle,
Why we don't take them to task?

As profits increase,
They refuse to cease,
To make more, has become their obsession,
As their wallets distend,
What they make, they can't spend,
