Why Don'T We Say Goodbye Poem by Rachel Brewer

Why Don'T We Say Goodbye

You know that our run is ending,
And that you have to go away.
Why are we dragging this out?
I know you won’t stay.

You have to go and live your life,
While I stay here to drown.
In this place without you,
Always wearing a frown.

You have to go and be somebody,
Because I know I never will.
So I’ll wait for you if you want me,
I’ll be here standing still.

It’s time now for you to leave,
So hurry, it’s your time to fly.
You have to be somewhere else,
So why don’t we say goodbye.
