Why I Love You Poem by Jay Emel

Why I Love You

Rating: 5.0

I love you for
the bright blue eyes
that lock the gaze
of passing skies

I love you for
the gentle nose
that clings to touch
of windy blows

I love you for
the listening ears
that hear the sound
of lonely tears

I love you for
the bluish lips
that kiss away
my deepest grips

I love you for
the sturdy hands
that help and lead
in times of none

I love you for
the warm embrace
that your arms give
in loving grace

I love you for
your hips and feet
that run the mile
and rest defeat

I love you for
the laughs and smiles
that conquer all
the gloomy whiles

I love you for
the thoughtful mind
that keeps and shares
this precious rhyme

I love you for
the heart that cares
the wounds of past
I can forget

I love you for
the soul that binds
together we'll
weather all grinds

I love you for
the love you kiss
without which I'll
never exist
