Why I Wear A Mask Poem by Randy McClave

Why I Wear A Mask

Rating: 5.0

If your child gets sick
Don't look at me I wont politic,
Think before you ask
Then look at me, I wear a mask,
I worry about myself and your health
While we live here in the commonwealth,
You won't hear me ever whine or complain
Or lie about breathing problems, or pain,
To protect and defend is such an easy task
So, I wear a mask,
And when you see the covering over my face
Underneath it, I wear a smile from Gods grace.

When you see me staying away from you
You know truly why that I do,
I don't want you, or your children, or your parents infected
Your well being and theirs I have not neglected.
At me you can point and mock and stare,
But, remember this, I wear a mask because for you I care.

If your parents from this virus get ill
For your sadness I will certainly feel,
But, remember this I was never a resistance
I always did social distance,
I always stayed over 6 feet away
As I won't be either an attacker or prey,
I too want this pandemic to soon end
But, until then myself and my family I will defend,
I will wear a mask and social distance when I am out
And I won't ague, complain, whine or pout,
I would much rather social distance you with a wave
Than to be a 6 feet distance from you in a grave.

Cheers to such simple steps that can be taken for the safety of all.
