Why Lock The Doors? Poem by Maymay Marie

Why Lock The Doors?

One beautiful day, the birds are singing,
The flowers are smiling and on their bloom,
Blades of the grass show their in-depth purpose,
Trees are laughing, swaying to the breeze that passes.

The sky is clear, blue, sturdy, to show the seasons,
Folks in different walks set their hands-on routines,
The deadlines and movements are sometimes not in tune,
Laughter's bloom fade.

The announcement is made to beware of talks closely,
Everyone is watching what comes next every second,
Yet the hands are still clinging for the deadlines,
Actions were hidden a bit, eyes on the papers.

Another announcement after another announcement,
Working for the orderly, clean and organized world,
To get rid of the darkness attaching the land,
Folks gather to be still at their homes.

Why lock the doors?
They worry and ask,
The news brings tears and nervousness,
Why lock the doors they said?

It is one way, not give the journey,
To the darkness to beset, one bridge after another,
Why lock the doors?
It is God's way to reflect His Word.
