Why longest thee of the created music,
That withers and is subject to,
The law of diminishing marginal utility?
Celestial Uncreated music must thou remain listening;
Thy music once was sweet to thy soul's ear;
Why don't thee hear it now?
That's why the breeze from paradise sighs over thee;
Negligence hath bound thee with the earthly music;
Deaf, dumb, and blind art thou!
Negligent, disillusioned, and unaware art thou!
As if standing atop a barren landscape,
With no humans moving, talking, and singing about;
No birds singing merry notes to thy soul's joy;
Arise from this state of desolation!
Open thy eyes to look in every direction,
That God only is present in the surroundings;
Calling thee to arise from thy place of isolation,
To see His reality existing all around;
Glory. Be. To. God.
