Why Not I
I said a little prayer for us
Though we had not embraced
That we would become one someday
And it would be our turn
No longer waiting in the wings
If someone should partake
Then why not you and why not I
Both melded into one
I held you in my arms with that first smile
Just knowing this was different
And if someone out there were to be with you
WHY NOT I
