Why The Moon Shines So Bright

Rating: 4.2

Why the moon shines so bright;
I think it's for a reason.
Is it to obscure objects in the night,
Or to make the darker days an illusion?

It shines, if you ask, to cast shadows;
It shines so bright we see it in the day
It shines even for the despondent widow
It shines, when it does, from the sun's rays.

Why the moon shines bright, I now know.
It shines not just for a chosen few
It waits for the sun to go to sleep though.
But the moon shines so bright for you too.
