Why Would You Think I'D Find You Irresistable? Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Why Would You Think I'D Find You Irresistable?

If you have repeatedly told me,
That a minding of your own business...
Is your main priority,
And I already know you are not dependable...
Or reliably consistent.
Why would you think I'd find you irresistable?

And why would you believe,
You and I would make a compatible couple...
Sharing a relationship to live under one roof?

A child,
Experiencing an amusement park for the first time...
Isn't 'that' delusional to believe,
The eating of cotton candy is nutritional.

Even a child would get sick,
Of riding on a merry-go-round...
That does nothing else,
After seeing the same scenery over and over again.
Knowing there is something about it,
That is never going to change.
