Wife In Exile - Poem by Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

Upon point of returning
with
foreign wife
to native land.

Will your wife
have any friends
there?

My friends
will be her friends.
If they be not.
Then they be neither
my friends
nor hers.

Problems?

This is a fundamental
truth in life.
A fundamental requisite
strewn in friendship.

For one flesh
one heart
one life
a commitment
that cannot
divided be.
