Willow Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Willow

They told us:
"It will rain…"
We had sun! ! !

Jumped in car,
Went outside,
Kind Sunlight.

Came home for camera,
And dashed out…

Photograph!
Photograph!
Photograph!

Of mountains in distance,
Grey rocks, snow, white
Clear, no cloud.

Turned out nice.

Some houses in front,
Snow, mounts, background.

Good, I like.

Then saw goats on the roof,
Counted and clicked, shoot.

It was fun.

Again, facing mountains,
Bush, vineyards, flowers,
Pussy Willows among them.

Willows took me far back,
To the child that was me:
"A devil in village is racing! "

Then headed for the park,
Soft, blue, was sky, sun bright.

Many birds in the lake,
Geese and ducks and others.

Fixed the f mark, shutter,
Focused and aimed again.

Many are my pictures…

Memories have returned,
Of grandma, mother's,
Why did I climb wall?
Why stole from mom?

Forgot cause, is long gone,
Well remember crime!

Catch me, put in handcuff,
I am thief, deserve walls.

Stealing your own things?
Had reason? What was it?

Or maybe, I was right,
We, many children,
Grandchild to same one,
And she was a racist,
Also, deeply sexist…

In her list I was last…
So, stole what she had!

The cherries and willows
Welcomed the springs…

She had both in her house.

I climbed the mud wall,
To go in, pulled me up,
Got on top and crossed,
Then jumped down…

Devil me, devil was! ! !
