Wilt Whitman Wrote: Experiential Seeds Creativity Reality

Rating: 5.0

a study of the writing routine of many great
writers reveals a unique individual style
within the times of the day or night;

they choose to write
the duration in time spent
writing editing polishing;

like 'Leaves of Grass'
Wilt Whitman inspired sang
personal life experiences
contrast experiential travel

differing employment changes
vision imaginative creativity
infuses awe impact writing
with the authenticity of reality;

yet the first calculated edition
named no author no publisher
a small book but 12 poems

contained no table of contents
none of the poems had titles
seeds cast into literary winds

a steel engraving of Whitman
serves as a lure hook frontispiece
a devil-may-care working man
jaunty hat piercing eyes growth

of stamp beard work clothes arms
at shirt emphasis side a posed
rakish slant the symbolic mast
of a schooner Whitman is set

to sail into harsh literary winds
reaps salty sea journey over four decades
literary legendary 'Leaves of Grass'

will mush grow into a sunset masterpiece
a compilation of over 400 time weathered poems
writing rewriting expanding epic humanity
