Win A Date With Raj Dronamraju Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Win A Date With Raj Dronamraju

Her husband died in childbirth
She moved on jostled by the crowd of eagerness all wearing matching outfits of brown boredom
Each an entrant in their own individual contest, first prize is to be looked at in a way you want to be looked at

I've got bad news for you - This world will thrive on your mistakes
But tonight we'll let them suck our blood and then we'll double and re-double our efforts
To be looked at as beautiful and youthful and shining and not worn out and plain

Troglodyte couplings make for gross maneuvers
You clutch the coupon book and hope the numbers match
The show ran for hours overpowering even the most forced of smiles
The host was oily, his sunglasses hid nothing

Under the terms and conditions on each entry slip, read the following....
If I was streaming this over the Internet
If the stream pauses, just wait a couple of seconds
I hope there's enough broadband for you and I to be together
