Wing's Of The Wind Poem by Myrtle Thomas

Wing's Of The Wind

To be carried away on the wing's of the wind
ascending upward and onward around the bend
silently and swiftly as gossamer down
careful now lift me away from the touch of the ground!

In dreams I travel day or night
I fly so very graceful til out of sight
to see and feel the world from this height
is an adventure in dreams, I soar in flight
To fly without thought, is so very grand
to sail around the world with the speed of sound
as light as a sweet cool spring breeze
lifted to heights of various degrees
But life is heavy and dreams still exist
as I sit in my chair and try to resist
the temptations, imaginations, that a mind can portray
as I drift in day dreams and am carried away
Hard is life in society these days
that to flee from it in day dreams, in golden haze
is an escape to freedom as an outcast
if only for a moment, that will never last.
