Wings Of The Heart Poem by pam handa

Wings Of The Heart

Rating: 5.0

Poetry and Music are sisters twain;
One is fantasy the other falling rain.
One paints a thousand romantic pictures;
The other sings of great sages and scriptures.

These rainbow-coloured wings of the heart,
Create images of a rather exquisite art.
They lay out thoughtful soulful wares,
For those that really and truly have cares.

Pop, Jazz, Rock 'n' roll, Country Folk,
For singers, hummers or those who croak.
Ancient or modern patterns of sound-
With perfect notes so well bound.

Beautiful appropriate ethereal words,
Flying across national barriers these birds,
Are weaving images artistic thoughts in rhyme,
And expressing innermost secrets of joy or crime.

Lyrical notes uplift the troubled spirit,
So that hope, strength and courage is lit.
Both soothe the body and the anxious mind,
They trigger romance so it's easy to unwind.

Like a peacock's dance or a colourful kite,
Both eagerly take off a magnificent flight.
They lessen our loss set things quite right,
Bring relief from despair misery and blight.

With imagination as her dearest and best friend,
Poetry can the wayward or fiery mind bend;
With strings melodious and words sweet,
Encased in the beating heart music can greet,
Abilities of a creative enchanting kind.

In life, in art, for one who dares,
On the roller coaster of worldly affairs,
Though expressions reflections of human beings,
Both spring from Godly not human doings.
