Winner Takes All Poem by Suzette Richards

Winner Takes All

Secure in his mind's intrigue -
charmed by a myriad mystique.
Compassion our conscience strum:
romantic, loathsome hokum.

As the bounce of bingo ball
brings about welcome windfall,
so he must his outlook trim
to his cloth in interim.

Gambling life's chances away;
wish on rainbow a mainstay.
It is but human to err --
it doesn't bother blighter.
