Winter Gardens Poem by R K Summers

Winter Gardens

I sat upon my window ledge,
And sang my song of sorrow.
I stepped into the evening air,
And wondered of tomorrow.

I walked through my winter garden,
And sang my song of fear.
I saw your face swim in my eyes,
When you found me here.

The cold stars wept for me,
My tears dried too fast,
When you whispered to me,
“This love would never last.”
