I belong to a grove of trees.
Many a winter we have shared,
With natural efficiencies,
Helps me and others be prepared.
I go into a dormancy.
My leaves are gone but that's okay.
I don't need as much energy.
Needed nutrients make their way
Up from my roots so to suffice
Needs, including antifreeze stuff
To help prevent forming of ice.
Through winters I fare well enough.
And my root system allows me
To share nutrients, tree to tree.
