It came in without concern for others
It didn’t matter to whom it would offend
It was rude and cold and mean
A wintry blast is what nature sent
A solid frozen world we were given
No matter if we wanted it or not
It was not what we’d have chosen
But a wintry blast is what we got
Folks died because of the weather
So many things can go wrong
Ice given in such magnitude
Is so furious and so very strong
Everything was encased in ice
Clear and hard and cold
We couldn’t walk or even drive
And believe me it soon grew old
Well, we know nothing lasts forever
But there is one thing that we ask
We pray for warmer kinder weather
And melt this wintry blast!
Our SF Bay Area weatherpersons get excited when we head to low 30s. We are 'insulated' from hash weather changes. I've been through flood and earthquakes, but not the bitter daily cold that you still have to go about in. You have written a good description of the harshness real cold can bring. Tom
