Wise Old Companion Poem by Amelie Ison

Wise Old Companion

Rating: 3.0

Who knows who he is; how old he is?
He is older than me, I know that:
He is an ancient being. I am certain
He must be omnipotent and omnipresent;
He knows all (omniscient) .
He is from the age of the dinosaurs—
Ask him how and when the meteor hit.
I bet he could give you an answer,
He has an answer to everything.
He is older than time itself, now
I am sure. He observed the first few
Precious seconds of the Universe's creation;
And, my friend, if you have an unknown ailment,
Go to him and ask. I bet he could cure you
With some antique remedy
He once heard of long, long ago.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This was actually inspired by my mum's ancient teddy bear from her childhood who has long since passed death.

Not bad, Amelie, who is this poem about? Seems a bit familiar. Not in ‘New Poems' as of yet unless Poem Hunter has been hiding it up to now. Denny
