There was once a time,
when you was mine.
The future was so bright,
and everything felt so right.

Everyday felt like it should,
with every moment being so good.
Being with you every night,
and waking with you at first light.

But now the tables have turned,
and my heart has been burned.
From a flame that was so pure,
now I'm left without a cure.

It all went wrong all to fast,
and now it's left in my past.
Since you've been gone that final time,
I still wish that you was mine.
