Wish I was an island
Snuggling an ocean blue,
In a world far away
Lost without a clue.
Low green hillocks staring
At the horizons end,
Embracing sun & sand
Where long pathways bend.
Blossoms in colored hues
Waltzing in joyous mirth,
Kissed by a summer breeze
Caressing my girth.
Sea-Gulls shrieking aloud
At clouds hued grey and white,
Wheeling across the skies
Then melting from sight.
Few stream-lets gurgling soft
Their lullabies in rhyme,
Nudging stones and pebbles
Down steep slopes of thyme.
Thick cloak of foliage
With hyacinth ponds around,
Muddied banks mossy green
Drenched in tweeting sound.
Prowlers and wilderness
Fusing without a care,
Gay butterflies painting
A beauteous snare.
Grass-blades soft and dew-kissed
Where powdery blooms heap,
Sunlight sneaking into
Caves where waters seep.
Dawn would verily vent
An orange painted sky,
A crimson dusk kissing
The sun a goodbye.
Evening star would urge
Insects from slumber rise,
To perceive a pale moon
In a ghost's disguise.
Where storms fiery & wild
Would lash the ships at sea,
Lost mariners praying
To stars and to me.
Would rest in lasting peace
My life a blissful joy,
Blessed by the Almighty
And fair angels coy.
Wish I was an island
Washed in an ocean blue,
Cradled by heavens, and
Lost without a clue.

With fantastic flight of imagery and portrayal of motley scenarios in the surroundings, an eternal truth has been reiterated and that is in spite of all sorts of relationships man has to be alone just like an island. Thanks for sharing.10+ points.
