Wishful Thinking Poem by Evelyn Judy Buehler

Wishful Thinking

Rating: 5.0

It's the New Year's boom
with colored fireworks lauding,
the toast of the town.
The proud, old guard has vanished,
with its dreams, yet unvanquished.

Hues light the plum night;
'midst crash and bang in the skies.
Starry-eyed moon glows.
The past's still following me,
but only in memory.

Oh no, don't say that! Evil seems to drown out the the quiet, good people of the world sometimes, but never lose faith in the good people, who work constantly to right the wrongs.

Every poet has his or her own particular voice, and they are all valid, like the voices of a choir. The injustices of this world ought to be exposed, and it's okay to write hopeful, happy poems, also
