With A Waving Entourage Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

With A Waving Entourage

When someone is seen and witnessed,
With a waving entourage.
Taking an escalator down.
Into the bowels of hell.
With this as an image to leave.
And intended to have it believed.
Why should anyone later be left surprised.
Their expectations did not rise higher.
When they with eyes wide and open.
Applauded and welcomed,
What for them would become...
The change they wanted.
With it done for them to come true.
