With Riots Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

With Riots

With rumors

Riots are not one day job
Person is grieved when really robbed
When parents are stabbed
Their houses are torched

The communities are pitted against one another
For decades and there after
We were ruled on cast lines
And divided on religion divine

Previously, Mughals plundered country
Then came English people for booty
We were nearly robbed
Still that plunder was not stopped

Now we have new native breed
Who does not heed
To the spirit of constitution
And disregard the nation

For sixty long years
We were fed with hears and say
People were poisoned with rumors
Now one fears even to talk about honor

With Riots
