With Your Own Self Poem by Francis Duggan

With Your Own Self

With your own self you have to begin
If you wish to make the World better to live in
By thinking of those in life doing it tough
In financial need and living and sleeping rough
And not all of your time thinking of only you
Remember there are others for to think of too
Those who only does live for the I, myself and me
Are partly responsible for Worldwide human inequality
Poverty has much of it's source in human greed
Those who live for self only for such planting the seed
Those who to their higher self remain ever true
For helping to create a better Human World to live in great credit are due
Since they help those in need of helping if they can
A better World to live in depends on the generosity of every woman and man
