Within And Without Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Within And Without

A glistening sapphire and emerald fan opened
Beneath a splendid Willow that solitarily wept
A peacock’s splendid tail feathers radiate half-circle…
Iridescent eyes accompany each soundless step

Fresh rays of sunlight kiss his pathway…
He travels in serenity among soothing floral scents
No other day could be more perfect he thought
The hours could not be more faultlessly spent

A small trickling stream flows into a tranquil pond
As gates to this quiet place open in the morning mist
Across the way… an extensive orderly grassy stretch
Rows of markers extend… identifying those sadly missed

Visitors quietly walk …each to their introspective locations
Some kneel… some stand… with heads bowed reverently
Sharing wanting thoughts… with hopes of being heard
The peacock’s presence lifts loneliness…concurrently
