Without Poem by Charlotte Andreski

Without

This is for Justine, the girl who keeps me going, the girl of my last stanza. Thanks, J (:

Without love,
I am no longer human
My skin is numb
My pain tingling
What most avoid
I look in the eye
To fake I still am human.

Without you
Where would I be
Closer or farther
To my own destiny
Did you push me ahead
Or pull me back with you
Out of, or into, the world, new

Without hope
The fate as a little girl
I grew up dreaming of
Has spiraled away
In front of me
The stars that once seemed
so reachable
Now off in the distance
Fading away
Impossible

Without her
I wouldn't be here
She pulled me from drowning
So close, so near
All to prove
Humanness
After you stripped me
Loveless
