Without Compassion Poem by Dorsey Baker

Without Compassion

The man without compassion
is like a well
without water
the man without compassion
like having salt
in your mouth but its flavor
you cannot taste
the man without compassion
lives a lonely life
The man without compassion
is a prisoner
of himself
he cannot be free
coldness imprisons him
the man without compassion
has sentenced himself
to unhappiness
because he will not allow
himself to love and be loved
a man without compassion
cannot become a friend
