Without You, There Was No Us Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Without You, There Was No Us

Before you, there was silence
where words now echo.
Spaces untouched,
waiting for meaning to arrive.

The days were just days,
passing without weight,
like shadows without a source of light.

You were the thread
that stitched moments into memories,
the spark that turned emptiness
into something worth holding.

Without you,
there was no reflection to meet my gaze,
no rhythm to the pulse
beneath my skin.

Now, in the absence,
I see it clearly--
there was never an 'us'
without the shape of you
holding together.
