Woman Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Woman

No, I will not wear veils
Nor walk behind a man.

I will always speak my mind
And be my own woman.

With honor, I will earn my keep
And never be a man's slave,

I will lie when I want to sleep
And my comments, I will not save.

I will no be intimidated,
For I will write whatever is true.

Fear will not have me fated
Nor will Cowardice ever do.

I will lay my life for my pen
Through words that reverberate.

It may be crushed, but be unbroken
Beyond the grave will my words pulsate.
