Women Drumming For Peace Poem by Francis Duggan

Women Drumming For Peace

The sound of their drumming echoes in the night
In the quiet of the park in the Autumn moonlight
Some does drum for war as an anger release
But these are the women who does drum for peace

Carried in the freshening winds that across the park blow
The sound of their drumming so pleasant and low
Borne in the breeze to the big World out there
Taking their message of peace to places elsewhere

Their drumming for peace such a beautiful thing
Serenity to the mind of the listener does bring
compared to the loud and angry war drumming that sows the death seed
It has a sense of tranquility about it and of more of it the Human World is in need.

In a World of many wars instilled by hatred, mistrust and fear
The sound of the drums of the women drumming for peace such a joy for to hear
Above the moonlit park in the night sky
Their message for peace in the freshening winds fly.
