Wonder Poem by Ima Ryma

A kid, I was allergic to
Dog dander, and so I could not
Get a dog, so what did I do?
Imaginary dog I got,
And named her Wonder because she
Made Mom and Dad wonder what's up
With talking and playing by me
With an only I could see pup.
I took them to some dug up ground
For something to see on their own.
I showed Mom and Dad what I'd found,
Some pawprints on a hidden bone.

My love was real and not pretend
For my 'imaginary friend.'
