There is nothing as powerful as a word
Spoken correctly, precise not slurred
Offering hope where none might exist
Praising others, your words may assist
In brightening the day of someone who’s glum
Lifting their spirit like a bright ray of sun
Offering comfort or a warm embrace
Creating a smile on a persons’ face
It’s easy to snap and say the wrong thing
Without a thought you may cause suffering
Words they can stick deep down inside
And ruin a friendship or somebody’s life
So as you go travelling about your day
Please be mindful of all that you say
