Words And Eggs Poem by Alix Mangerian

Words And Eggs

Rating: 5.0

It's so easy to let moments slip
Like scarves of silk
Sifting past fingertips

Into a puddle

Memories mimic rainbows
With oil slick sheen

If I'm not careful,
Ease my feet into
Stretched out prints
Shifting sands

My words fall to the floor
Shattering like eggs
Leaving traces of yolk
And salmanilia

Me with pristine spatula
Thinking, 'Not again! '
