Words are said
they pierce our hearts
and replay in our head
like a broken record.

The positive lets us see the light
a the end of the tunnel.
They give us hope and courage.
We gain the confidence to achieve, overcome, and dream.

The negative pierces our hearts and our minds.
they play like a broken record. Just when we think
we have gotten rid of the hurtful words they come back
and haunt us when we least expect it.
They are never truely gone.

They make us frown
and turn our day upside down.
We let them get the most of us.

But I thought 'Sticks and stones will break our bones
and words will never hurt us'
