WW1
You died at the war
Laying on the floor
The war it claimed you
Those stories so sad but so true
The war it caused oh so much strife
You showed great courage, giving your life
Your name is said out load
Your family, all so proud
We hate the way you died in pain
Our country, how it fought in vain
The valiant effort of all that helped us
And in the end you died without fuss
I Was’t there to fight with you
Under that sky all so blue
We won the war but it came at a price
We lost you who seemed ever so nice
We buy our poppies to give you our love
Now you are gone and resting above
Now we all live in a good world that they will not know
So all we can do is tell of the respect that we all show
I promise to mourn for you who lost your lives
I also cry for your girlfriends and wives
Now you are resting up in the sky
So all we can do is say goodbye
Again and again.
