Worrying Poem by Randy McClave

Worrying

Fretting is futile
It doesn't give you an extra foot or mile,
It doesn't help you get here or there
But, it will always give you an extra gray hair.
Worrying always divides the mind
In any situation or in any daily grind,
Anxiety then splits our mind in two
From what we knew.
We worry about todays priorities and tomorrows problem
And then we sit and worry about resolving them,
Part of the mind is on the now, the other half on the not yet
The result is half minding living regret.
Worrying is not a disease, but it causes diseases
Heart trouble, blindness, and with migraine headaches it teases,
High blood pressure, thyroid malfunction and stomach disorder
Then you on teetering on the destruction border.
Anxiety is also a very expensive habit
It can multiply and then quickly again like a rabbit,
Of course it might be well worth it, if it just worked
But, as the Scottish say it, it's "burked"!
Worry has never solved a problem or brightened a day
It has never cured a disease or caused a migraine to go away,
As Saint Matthew wrote about the stress that you commit
"You cannot add any time in your, life by worrying about it".
