Worth As A Rhymer Poem by Francis Duggan

Worth As A Rhymer

My worth as a rhymer i may have reason to doubt
But for me no shortage of material for to write rhymes about
It is something i love doing in truth i can say
The rhymes keep on coming to me every day
It is easy to write rhymes as most wouod agree
And one rhyme leads to another is how it seems for me
There are rhymes every day in the things i do hear and see
A magpie is singing on a windblown gum tree
And the magpie larks in the paddocks are calling pee wee
To write rhymes is easy as easy as can be
To say i am a poet myself i would only deceive
But that i was born to write rhymes this i do believe
With rhyming words i am one who loves to play
And the rhymes keep on coming to me every day.
