Worth The Waiting Poem by Steffi Webster

Worth The Waiting

Rating: 5.0

Through the millpond trees
And hidden dreams
The pain bears a warning.
Misery and loneliness,
With the night is dawning.
A misery and quiet
Keeping council in my mind,
Waiting for another month,
Tension help the bind.
For cold wind and kisses ice,
Memory melting clear.
Wait return, coming yearn,
Drifting now with fear.
Dreamers cease their dreaming.
Wishes fade away.
Raintears fall on concrete
Hand clasp end of day.
Then days go by like shadows,
Fleeting, creeping, dark.
I await the coming of
My wandering angel lark.

Rumbling on the surface,
White lights wink then smile,
I knew he'd return to me.
Just absent for a while.

Then warming touch
The fire burns,
Sweet kisses on my skin.
Cares fade, lark serenade
My purgatory sin.

That first line evokes Dylan Thomas at his best. The rest is excellent too. Dan xxx
