Worth The World Poem by Newo Enec

Worth The World

You stare at me through contacts
Beneath your blonde highlights
Do i deserve discrimination
When i avoid your eyes
Ive never been jealous
Of your phoney blue eyes
But how easy people love you
Is what i envy all the time
I guess we all want to be
Worth the world to someone
I guess we all need to be
Worth the world to someone
But you have cast me in the shadows
Your kind have thrown me in the back
Ive been sheltered in the darkness
And spared from their attack
So now im standing up again
Im so tired of who you claimed i am
By the way i look or dress
So dont tell me what i can or cant
Because its basic to want
To be worth the world to someone
And we know we both want
To be worth the world to someone
When a black sun is setting
On the notions of the past
It seems like this will last
Because what pains me most
Is that a label on my forhead
Bearing shallow hatred
Reviews the life ive led
I still wish i were
Worth the world to someone
We all wish we were
Worth the world to someone
Ive tried so hard to mean something
Ive sold my SELF away
It hurts me to be nothing
In a tortured life this way
Im not even trying
To hurl any blame at you
Or those who dragged me down here
But when will you ever realize
The overlooked are still alive
