Would You? Poem by Dr Soumya Nambiar

Would You?

Rating: 5.0

Would you believe me if I showed you my reality?
Would you prefer it if I kept up with my lies?
Would you mind the self loathing behind the vanity?
Would you try on my problems for size?

Would you slay my demons, real or imagined?
Would you rather be cruel and set them free?
Would you soothe me when I'm frightened?
Would you hold me close or let me be?

Would you find me if I was lost and scared?
Would you turn away from my soul if it was bared?
Would you grudgingly spend your time trying to change me?
Would you instead hold my hand for all the world to see?

Would you smooth over a rift or fall through the crack?
Would you let me go if I needed to fly?
Would you love me if I no longer loved you back?
Would you answer me if I asked you why?
