Write Me Back Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

Write Me Back

And it all turned blank when love fell to become pieces
Memories made began to wrinkle but unfading on thoughts
Tears, he shed filled rivers and became oceans
Love songs became bitterness in the process of healing
He died many painful deaths in attempt of winning her again
Letters he wrote, had all the sorries and sorrows on their palms

She played deaf and dumb to his greetings
There, he stood like a wet chick by heavy drops of rain
He felt the grips of his heart on her, loosening
A frustrating moment, it was
Regrets were written all over his gait
All the pride was thinning upon his soul
Indeed, he was a broken man!

'Write me back', he begged
To her, it sounded like a nag
With him, up, she was fed
To him, she is something he can about, brag
Now, he is gone mad
For, the cat is leaving the bag
