Yes Jesus Loves You (Whitney Houston Tribute) Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Yes Jesus Loves You (Whitney Houston Tribute)

A little choir girl
Cissy's Daughter
Born to music
Like a fish to water

Gracious bright
Quiet, repectful, polite
People sensed in you
A beautiful light

Fame it came
So strong and fast
Like a whirlwind
That could not last

People expect their heros
To be a certain way
That scrutiny you bore
But it swept you away

Money and fame
Eases the pain of life
Betrayals Cut you
Like a knife

Pills and drinking
Make it fade
Who could blame you
For the choices made

Love always pulls
At beauty in the dance
You sang lovesongs
Heart craving true romance

And in the end you die alone
Slip away waiting by the phone
Lungs filled with scented water
Gone now to join your father

Your sweet spirit remains
You've left your precious song
A beautiful woman who needed love
Did your best to get along

Yes, Jesus loves you
Your heart did feel it too
You had a sense
Life was almost through

Now an angel, rest
Escape life's fire
Know your life does still inspire
Your joyous voice joins Heaven's choir
