You And She Both Are Moms… One Gave Me Birth; One Raises To Let Live In World - Poem by Sadashivan Nair

You bore seed in womb,
Waited for first glimpse of me,
Gave a chance to live in world,
Gave a chance to embrace
Lush beauty of this world;
The other raises me,
Though she is maid;
Takes me to her lapel,
One breast for me,
One breast for her son,
Adorns advances by me,
Enjoys my first walk,
Adores my first talk;
Fondles me when I weep,
Brolly in thundery rain,
Shade in blazing sun,
She sleeps by my side,
In embroidered bed,
Made by her;
Hugs me gives her warmth,
I am asleep before you come,
I am asleep when you go;
You and she both are moms…
One gave me birth;
One raises to let live in world;

    Off course both are mothers. The maid who actually raises new born with care and love is more important, in some aspects, than the biological mother. The baby, thus, enjoys love of 2 mothers in such cases mostly in affluent families or where the biological mother is a careerist.
    Nice and meaningful poem. Thanks for sharing.10 points.
